Job Title: Electrician

Job Summary:

The Electrician II candidate will be able to complete required PM’s and perform repairs on the client’s facility equipment as directed by site leadership. Within the preventive and reactive work orders, candidate will be able to install, trouble shoot, and repair facility electrical distribution systems, electronics, automation systems, lighting systems, apparatus, and devices. Basic skills and knowledge of motor controls, and logic control systems is a priority. Qualified candidates should be familiar with low voltage systems, fire alarm systems, and voice and data systems. Position provides quality control using guidelines from the National Electrical Code, local codes, safety regulations and EMCOR standard practices.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maintain a safe and clean work area. Demonstrate basic safe work practices based on company and customer policies and procedures.

  • Able to attend and pass certification and licensing classroom and practical training for rolling stock, such as forklifts, scissor lifts, articulating boom lifts, etc.

  • Installs and connects power supply wiring and conduit for lighting, general devices, newly installed machines and building equipment

  • Troubleshoot and support production controls and automation components

  • Basic knowledge of Diagnosing malfunctioning apparatus such as transformers, motors, motor starters, MCC panels, MCC circuits, variable frequency drives and lighting fixtures and replaces damaged parts, broken wires, cables and connections

  • Knowledge and responsibility to maintain the following electrical distribution equipment: 3 phase 4 wire 277/480 VAC, 3 Phase 4 wire 120/208 VAC, and single phase 3 wire 120/240 VAC

  • Replaces faulty electronic components, such as printed circuit boards, relays, contractors, and control button

  • Basic knowledge of Maintaining building lighting, task lighting, parking lot lighting, lighting contactors, emergency lights/exit lights, 120-volt outlets, photoelectric eyes for exterior building lighting, and lighting contactors that are controlled by the energy management system

  • Basic knowledge of the layout of wiring and installing wiring, conduit, and electrical apparatus in buildings per the NEC

  • Performs preventative maintenance tasking, on 480 volt or less, on all electrical utilities and equipment

  • Responsible for accurate and timely paperwork related to essential duties and responsibilities

  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

  • HS Diploma or equivalent preferred or combination of experience and training.

  • 3 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Must possess applicable certifications, licenses and a valid driver's license

  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions operating and maintenance instructions, and memos.

  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.

  • Ability to effectively present information in one–on-one and small group situations of customers, clients, and other employees of the organization

Work Environment:

  2. Abide by OSHA guidelines including lock-out/tag-out and HAZCOM guidelines and all other Company/Customer driven safety initiatives.

  3. Hours of work are solely defined and governed by business volume and contract schedules.

  4. Ability to handle stressful situations and remain calm in the face of the customer and subordinates
